This is the question we are asked most often, and the sales answer — that one of them never marks — is not true. Both show fingerprints. What differs is what happens next.
Dark gloss shows them most, and there is no way around that. Acrylic-faced fronts wipe clean easily and hold their reflection far better over time than a sprayed gloss, which is why we specify acrylic on the doors people actually touch every day and keep sprayed gloss for the runs they do not.
Super-matte is the quieter option, and modern anti-fingerprint lacquer is genuinely good: the surface is deep and flat, and it shrugs off marks that a standard matte would hold onto. It is not invisible to grease, but a damp cloth is enough.
The only reliable way to decide is to handle both in your own kitchen, under your own light, with the window you actually have. That is what the sample case is for.
