A built-in is scribed and fastened to the house and stays behind when you sell. Cabinet furniture stands on its own plinth or legs, is finished on all sides, and can be moved to another wall or another address. The construction is the same frameless box; the difference is how it meets the room.
That is the usual brief. We work from the same panel and lacquer ranges, so a hall bench or a dining sideboard can be built in the identical super-matte colour, the same textured melamine or a veneer cut from the same log. Finish formulas are recorded against your file, which is what makes a piece ordered later still read as part of the set.
We check the path before the drawings are finalized — door widths, stair turns, ceiling height at the landing. Anything that will not clear is built in knock-down sections with concealed connectors and assembled in the room, which is standard practice for tall bookcases and long sideboards.
Yes. The carcass is built with a service void behind the drawer boxes, drawers are notched around the trap, and the piece sits on adjustable levelling feet so it can be set plumb on an uneven tile floor. We take the rough-in dimensions at the measuring visit.
That is exactly why the design consultant travels to you. Super-matte and gloss chips, textured melamine samples, veneer leaves, gola sections and handle options are laid out in the room where the piece will live, at the time of day you use it, so the choice is made against your own flooring, wall colour and daylight.
No. We will build a single piece. Smaller commissions do carry a proportionally higher cost per unit because the drawing time, the setup and the finishing run are the same as for a larger job, and your estimate will show that plainly.
Pieces are blanket-wrapped in the shop, delivered by our own installers rather than a courier, and unwrapped in the room. Matte lacquer is handled with gloves so the first fingerprints on it are yours. Floors and stair treads are protected on the way in, and we take the packaging away with us.
