- 01Hawthorne Village, Scott and Ford builder kitchens
- Thermofoil or laminate doors on particleboard boxes, 30-inch uppers with a dead gap above them, and a pantry on fixed shelves. Rebuilding it as a frameless European kitchen — 2400mm tall units, a gola channel in place of handles, soft-close runners rated to 40 kg — is the single biggest change these houses take.
- 02Walk-in closets fitted with one wire shelf
- Almost every two-storey in the newer subdivisions came with a single rod and a coated wire shelf in the primary closet. A proper build gives double hanging, drawer banks with felt-lined jewellery inserts, adjustable shoe shelving and LED lighting inside the run.
- 03Unfinished basements
- Most of these homes were sold with the lower level open. Finishing it with a bar, cabinetry, a bathroom and an office is permitted work, and getting the layout right around the furnace room, the beam line and the window wells is the bulk of the design job.
- 04Old Milton century homes
- Brick houses near the old core with narrow stairs, plaster walls and smaller rooms than the plans suggest. Cabinetry is scribed to the wall and levelled off a recessed plinth; most clients here choose a quiet slab front, though a painted Shaker door is still ours to build where the room clearly wants one.

Book a Consultation
Call the Ancaster office or send a note through the site and we will find a time that suits your week, evenings and Saturdays included. Before the appointment we ask a few questions about the room, the budget range you have in mind and how the space is actually used day to day.

We Come to You
A design consultant arrives at your home with a case of slab door samples in super-matte, gloss, textured melamine and veneer, plus gola and finger-pull sections you can put your hand into, hinges and runners to work, edge profiles and finish boards. We walk the room together, talk through what is not working now, and hold finishes up against your own floors, counters and light.
You see every finish and opening system in the room it is meant for, with no drive and no showroom floor.

Design & Estimate
We take measurements if you would like us to, then prepare a computerized design with plan, elevations and 3D views drawn to your room's real dimensions. The estimate that follows itemizes cabinetry, surfaces, hardware and labour, so you can see exactly where the money goes.
You receive drawings and a detailed written estimate, free and with absolutely no obligation.

Production & Coordination
Once the drawings are signed off, doors, boxes and drawer fronts go into production and the countertop template is booked. Deliveries and trades are sequenced so material does not sit in your garage for six weeks waiting on something else to arrive.
You get a production schedule with the dates that affect your household marked on it.

Professional Installation
Installers protect floors and stair runs before anything comes through the door, then set and shim the frameless boxes dead level and scribe the end panels to the wall. Fronts are adjusted at the end of the install until the reveals read consistently at 3mm across the run and the gola channel lines through from one end of the kitchen to the other.
You get a swept site each evening and one point of contact for the length of the installation.

Final Inspection & Completion
We walk the finished room with you and write down anything that is not right, from a hinge that wants a quarter turn to a filler that needs trimming. Nothing is called complete until that list is empty and you have signed off on it.
You receive care instructions, spare hardware and the warranty in writing.
Working in Milton.
No. A consultant comes to you with cabinet samples, colour samples, door styles and hardware, discusses the project, takes measurements if you want them, and follows up with a computerized design and a detailed estimate. All of that is free and carries no obligation.
Building permits are issued by the Town of Milton. Replacing cabinetry in place does not need one; structural openings, plumbing relocation, new bathrooms and finished basements do. Properties on or near the escarpment can also fall under Conservation Halton and the Niagara Escarpment Commission, which adds time to the front of the schedule.
Work you commission yourself is not covered by Tarion, though replacing cabinetry does not remove coverage from the rest of the home. Outstanding builder deficiencies are best submitted before your statutory form deadlines pass, and we are happy to hold a room in the schedule while a builder claim is settled.
Yes. The finish, door profile, edge detail and hardware are recorded for every project, so a laundry or mudroom added two years after the kitchen can be built to the same specification. Painted and lacquered finishes match closely; a stain on solid wood will have shifted slightly with age, and we will tell you honestly when that is the case.
